The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League began on Monday at the Multan Cricket Stadium with a spectacular opening ceremony. The PSL 8 anthem was sung by Abdullah Siddiqui, Asim Azhar, Faris Shafi, and Shae Gill, with a variety of performers entertaining cricket fans in Multan and around the world.

The ceremony began with Aima Baig, a talented and beautiful young singer, performing a rendition of the Pakistani national anthem.

During his speech, Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, announced that Quetta and Peshawar would also host PSL matches in 2024. He also mentioned how the competition had provided national team players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali. "Full congratulations in advance to those who will win," Sethi said as he ended his speech.

HBL CEO Muhammad Aurangzeb also spoke, expressing his anticipation that the young athletes would do well in the competition. "No matter who wins, Pakistan has truly triumphed," he continued.

The ceremony featured performances from Sahir Ali Bagga, Aima Baig, and The Colony, a dance group from Lahore that showcased their talents at the PSL opening ceremony.

The most awaited performance of the night was the new PSL anthem, which was performed live for the first time by Asim Azhar, Shae Gill, and Faris Shafi, who rocked the stage.

The PSL opening ceremony ended with a grand firework show, and the Lahore Qalandars team was seen enjoying the light show from their balcony. It was also the first time that AR and VR technology was used in Pakistan, making it a truly spectacular sight to behold.
