Hello everyone, I am back with an article written specially for you people. But this time my topic is different, reason being my mental state due to the recent tragic incident that occurred. I am writing with a heavy heart today, as a Pakistani deeply impacted by the tragic incident off the coast of Greece.
As a Pakistani, I witness the struggles that have led many of our fellow citizens to desperate measures. It is so painful to see how circumstances have pushed people to leave their homes in search of a better life. No one is ever willing to leave their loved ones and homeland; it is done only when there is no other way that they could get a better life for themselves and their family.
The issue of illegal immigration from Asian countries to Europe via shipping boats is a concerning one that has been going on for years. The situation is alarming as it poses a significant threat to the safety and security of the immigrants themselves, as well as the European borders they seek to cross.
These immigrants are mainly individuals who are fleeing war, persecution, poverty and economic hardship in their home countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Iran.
They embark on perilous journeys, putting their lives at risk to seek better opportunities and a chance to rebuild their lives.
However, the often overcrowded boats pose a huge risk for the immigrants as they are often found to be unseaworthy, leading to dangerous and sometimes fatal incidents, just like the one at the coast of Greece.
Even if they successfully cross into Europe, they face harsh inhumane living conditions and systematic discrimination.
Moreover the increasing number of illegal immigrants arriving via these routes into these European countries, has resulted in implementing strict immigration policies, in some cases creating a hostile environment for these immigrants.
In a nutshell, illegal immigration via shipping boats from Asian countries to Europe is a multifaceted issue that requires a comprehensive resolution. Addressing the root causes of mass migration such as poverty and economic hardship, coupled with creating safer and legal migration routes could help alleviate the problems associated with this issue.
I wish this tragic incident that recently took place could result in bringing out a change, it could be a lesson for all those who are thinking of fleeing from their economic hardship and poverty via illegal migration. I just wanted to talk my heart out and to bring about some awareness regarding this issue, I hope I am successful.
