Enlighten Islamic Values: 42nd Annual Conference by Azeem Educational Conference

Islamabad is a city of opportunities and many interesting events are conducted here regularly. Recently, the 42nd Annual Farooq-e-Azam and International Conference titled, Enlighten Islamic Values, was organized by Azeem Educational Conference (Regd.) to inculcate the Islamic values in youth and commemorate the Caliphate of the second righteous Caliph of Islam and companion of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) on Sunday, 25th September 2022 at Sir Syed Memorial Society, Islamabad.

Hundreds of people attended the conference from every walk of life. All of them were warmly welcomed. Renowned scholars from all over the country participated in this event.

Dr Sultan Bashirudin Mehmood (SI) Former Director General of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, was the chief guest.  Many other renowned scholars named Muhammad Waseem Farooqi, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Sajjad, Muhammad Umar Nawaz Farooqi, Muhammad Faisal Chauhan TED Fellow and Social Media Expert at Silicon Valley, Dr. Bakir Khan Khakwani Ex Dean AIOU, and Dr. Muhammad Azeem Farooqi Founder AEC also attended the event. The Conference was presided by the Patron in Chief Dr. Muhammad Azeem Farooqi.

The event was divided into 7 sessions. The first session started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the Naat e Rasool.

Muhammad Faisal Chauhan explained the “Importance and Practical Steps of Contemporary Social Media in Context of Present Day” in the first segment. He addressed, the use of media affects the structure of the human brain and the consumption of social media has increased. He advised the young generation to avoid wasting time on social media because it diverts the focus. He further explained that Namaz helps us to remain focused. He further put a light on what the Prophets used to do to aware the public.

In the second session a documentary was played by AEC based on the life of Dr. Muhammad Azeem Farooqi. The documentary showed how Dr. Azeem Farooqi started the Azeem Educational Conference? And what inspired him to do that and the way he helped, educated and empowered many underprivileged individuals.

In third segment, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Sajjad (Chairman Department of Interfaith Studies AIOU) gave his insight on “Basic Introduction and Beautiful Blend of Shariat and Tariqat”. That is the need of all the times. Hazrat Umar e Farooq R.A) followed the Shariat and Tariqat. He addressed, being a Muslim Shariat and Tariqat have their own values. After accepting Islam what are the requirements and how to follow the Quran and Hadith? Shariat has two branches, the Holy Prophet and the Holy Quran. Shariat is the basis of Islam. Tariqat is the practical implementation of Islam.

The fourth session was a special session. Its title was “Important Aspects of Farooq e Azam’s (R.A) Personality and his Services as a Role Model for Islamic World”. Dr. Muhammad Baqir Khan Khakwani explained the skills, leadership qualities, sense of responsibility, strength, knowledge, bravery and courage of caliph Umar (R.A). He also talked about his personal life, and his behaviour towards Muslims and non-Muslims. The traits of caliph Umar (R.A) were also discussed in the light of the contemporary era.

The fifth segment was on “Fundamental Qualities and Responsibilities of Sheikh-e-Tariqat” by Muhammad Umar Nawaz Farooqi.  He shed light upon what were the qualities and properties of a Sheikh? What should a good Sheikh or Murshid do? The personality of Sheikh or Murshid should give the glimpse of the Holy Prophet. He should be a role model like the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.).  A Sheikh or Murshid should be an expert of Shariat and Tariqat and must follow the same track.

The talented students of Al Fouzul Azeem International Quran Academy presented the Qaseeda Burda Shareef and Asma ul Husna in a graceful manner.

Dr Sultan Bashirudin Mehmood (SI) congratulated the AEC management for arranging such an exceptional event. He appreciated the journey of AEC especially Dr. Muhammad Azeem Farooqi. He also expressed his thoughts about the current situation in Pakistan and advised the masses to follow Islamic values parallelly with worldly desires to make it a better Islamic state.

A short report of Azeem Educational Conference was screened in which all the initiatives done by AEC were played in the sixth segment. It featured IT, publications, productions and many other future projects of AEC.

The seventh and last was the prime segment. It was on “Modern Challenges & Needs for the Stability of Faith and Sufi’s Practical Approach” which was discussed by the founder of AEC Dr. Muhammad Azeem Farooqi. He discussed in detail what Sufism is and then put light on the importance of Sufism in modern-day life. He was of the view that Sufism was a medium that can enlighten the Islamic values in an amazing way. He emphasized that Sufism might be a panacea to the modern man’s worries, anxieties, depressions and so-called psychological and spiritual problems.  He said that due to the modern challenges it was important to introduce Islamic values among the youth. The degrees of khilafat (the authority given by the Sheikh to his devotees in which he allows his followers to pledge the further masses to guide them to the ways of Almighty) were also distributed among the disciples. He further added that Sufism could infuse among the masses the element of peace, forgiveness, tolerance, harmony and the love of God.

The audience really enjoyed the conference and gained the worthy Islamic knowledge to keep themselves right on path.  Everyone had access to join the event. It was also live on Facebook and it is still available on different social media channels.
