The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) was established in 1991 with the purpose of providing a stable and disciplined academic environment. Currently, the university is the #1 engineering institute in Pakistan and brushes shoulders with some of the most prestigious universities in the world. For many aspiring engineers, getting admission into the esteemed institution is a dream come true.

What’s important is how to get admission in NUST? And what is the requirement basically? You don’t need to worry or procrastinate whether you will get in or not. All you have to do is work hard, achieve great scores, and apply to the university within the deadline.

Steps For Admission In NUST:

There are multiple steps for getting admission in NUST. A student has to go through a lot to earn his place in that great institution. We’ll discuss some of those steps here down below.

  • Apply Online at NUST

The first step to getting in the long line of applicants is by applying directly. You’ll have to fill an online form and choose the required options alongside filling it with your details. After you’ve done that, you’ll get a slip that you’ll be required to deposit in the bank. After that, your application is complete.

  • Get Admit Card

After paying the fee, you’ll be sent an admit card with your photo on it. You’ll have to take the card to the test centre where everything will be thoroughly checked before you’re allowed in. The card has your registration number as well so you must not lose it or else you wouldn’t be able to take the exam.

  • Take the NUST Entry Test

When you have the admit card with you, take it to the centre. You can then take your exam and do your best in it. Make sure to leave no stone unturned during the exam and feel confident about your ability to ace the entrance test.

  • Wait for the Final List

The next step after taking the test is going back home and waiting for your test result to come. Only then you’ll be able to know if you have a chance of getting selected or not. If you score well and are selected, your way of studying in NUST is all clear.

  • Start Studying

The session for NUST starts sometime between October and November. So, after you’ve cleared the exam and paid the semester dues, you’ll be eligible to come and study at NUST as a student.

NET:

NET consists of 200 MCQs each carrying one mark. There are 80 MCQs from Mathematics portion, 60 MCQs from Physics, 30 MCQs from Chemistry, 20 MCQs from English portion and 10 MCQs of Intelligence test with 40%, 30%, 15%, 10%, and 5% respectively.

Net also has an IQ section which comprises of:

·        Number series

·        Numbers and pictures

·        Coding and decoding

·        Directions

·        Odd-one-out

The one key thing to remember here is the point that NET questions are very conceptual. They require having a deep knowledge of every topic, and those that cram fail miserably. So, learning things from a conceptual point of view is something that is always recommended.

You should also follow these tips:

·        Make a written schedule

·        Prioritize subjects, chapters and topics

·        Spend each day very wisely

·        Study conceptually

·        Practice as many MCQs as possible

·        Watch lectures

·        Join academies

·        Attempt full length papers

·        Try studying in groups

TopGrade.Pk is a great place to go for help while preparing for your NET.

The good thing about the test is that it is conducted thrice a year and you can appear in the test more than once and your best score will be considered. This means that you can also give NET again in order to improve your score.
